NARITA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TERMINAL3

Terminal 3 of Narita Airport opened on April 8, 2015.
This Terminal 3 is an exclusive terminal for low-cost carriers (LCCs). Fittingly, its construction and design were low-cost as well, with its construction being around half the usual cost. As such, even some facilities that are considered a norm couldn’t be installed.
The key concept of the construction and design was “more than 2 into 1,” to explore the economic rationaility by consolidating more than two functions into one. In other words, maximizing aesthetic design elements by “getting creative without spending money.”

2015年4月8日オープンの成田空港　第3ターミナル この第３ターミナルは、LCC（ローコストキャリア）専用であり、 建築・デザイン面で徹底したローコスト空港で、建設予算は、通常のおよそ半分で、 当たり前に入れられている設備を入れることができませんでした。 今回の建築・デザインにおける キーワードは、”more than 2 into 1”。 ふたつ以上の機能をひとつに集約し、経済合理性を追求する。 つまり、「お金をかけずに工夫する」デザインを大切にすること。 そういった製作者の思いを記録した一つのドキュメンタリー。
